A Statewide Alliance Working to Address
Substance Abuse and Related Issues in West Virginia
The WV Partnership was created by
Executive Order in May 2004 to coordinate a comprehensive statewide substance abuse system.
It consists of Governor-appointed
representatives
with training, experience, and or special knowledge concerning substance abuse prevention, intervention, treatment and/or recovery.
The Partnership's activities include assessment and evaluation, planning and policy recomendations, and grant advising.
Specific accomplishments include: the development of
The Governor's Comprehensive Strategic Plan to Address Substance Abuse in WV and the
Governor's Drug Summit in 2009.

The WV Partnership is staffed by the
WV Prevention Resource Center and supported with funding from a federal Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF SIG).
